Start Using these 5 Tools to Grow Your Brand and Be More Productive

Contributing Author: Levi Steier

As a commercial real estate (CRE) broker or salesperson, you may operate as part of a group, however, you are also an independent contractor, and in many ways, operating your own business. This means you should be developing a marketing strategy of your own, in conjunction with your firm’s marketing plan, to help you grow your personal brand, get more listings, and become a leader in your market and/or area of specialization.

There are many great tools available to help business owners leverage technology, and this is equally true for marketing yourself, growing your brand, and measuring your efforts.

Here are some tools you might want to consider adding to your toolkit.

Woodpecker.co– Automated your cold emailing and prospecting process.

If you are cold mailing CRE prospects you should consider a service that allows you to automate the process. It is similar to other emailing automation software you might be using already, like Constant Contact or MailChimp, but its purpose is geared toward the cold email process and following up.

Asana.com– Manage your to-do lists and projects with a project management tool.

You are busy, and you wear many, many hats. It can be overwhelming, and a great project management tool might be just what you need to stay on top of it all. Tools like Asana allow you to maintain various projects, to-do lists, and much more to keep your most valuable asset – time – accounted for.  Additionally, Asana allows for collaboration, delegation, and much more.

Google Alerts– Updates from Google on the things that matter to you and your business.

Google alerts allows you to get updates on new content published across the internet. Just set up your search terms and Google will email you a notification when new content is created on that topic. This can help you keep track of trends, specific topics of interest, specific properties or markets, and just about anything you can think of. You should create an alert for your name. This will then notify you if your name is mentioned somewhere and you can investigate to protect your brand.

Grammarly– Stronger writing for better content creation.

Whether you are writing an email, blog post, a white paper, or a Facebook post, Grammarly can help you do it better. It is an automatic extra set of eyes on anything you write. This will help polish your written content, make it more professional, and improve your search engine optimization.

Cyfe– Track all your data with a dashboard.

Social media, email campaigns, website views, likes, followers, engagements, clicks, opens, bounce rates…umm…there is a lot of information to be tracked an analyzed to improve your business efforts. A dashboard that brings it all in to one place in a visual way might be just what you need to understand and utilize your data for better growth and improvement over time.

As with any tool recommendations, it is a good idea to test them out and see if they will actually benefit your work-flow and fit into your systems. If they do not, it is likely you can find a similar tool that is better for you and your situation. Experiment and be sure to track your results to make sure the tools are worth the investment.
